Additional SMART Board Activity on Smart Exchange for Practicing Parts of SpeechThis SMART Board activity can be used as a whole group activity or small group practice to extend the learning. It covers the definitions and uses of the five parts of speech: nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, and adverbs. Verbs are presented as action words and states of being, so this latter concept extends student’s understanding of verbs and how they function. Through this interactive activity students are engaged as they sort words into categories and identify parts of speech in sentences by dragging symbols and placing them over the words. The last few activity pages include lessons on prepositions and conjunctions which are advanced concepts for Third Grade and can either be skipped or used to challenge more advanced students.
